About SewerCompass

SewerCompass exists to answer one quietly expensive question: if your buried sewer or water line fails, will your homeowners insurance actually pay? The honest answer is "usually not, unless you added the right endorsement" — but you'd never know it from a standard policy, because the exclusions are buried in Section I fine print and the two relevant add-ons are easy to confuse.

What we do

We turn that fine print into a plain-English tool. Pick how the line failed and our coverage verdict tells you whether it's covered, which endorsement would change the answer, and the exact policy language it hinges on. Alongside it, we estimate the repair — trenchless vs dig-up — and help you decide whether an endorsement is worth buying or a claim is worth filing.

How we build it — no black boxes

Every calculator uses a transparent, unit-tested formula, and we cite the standards and sources behind our numbers on the methodology page. We don't sell leads, and the coverage logic reflects the standard ISO HO-3 form and typical endorsement terms — always confirm against your own declarations page.
